San Juan La Union: The Surfing Capital Of The North

San Juan La Union is the Surfing Capital of the North. We decided to go here to celebrate Janna’s Birthday last September and to enjoy our vacation leave.

There are three reasons to why we choose San Juan La Union. First is to surf, second is to eat and feel the good vibe’s in their eatery, restaurants, and cafe. And last, is to hike to Tangadan falls, but sadly due to the typhoon the Tourism office at San Gabriel did not allow us to go there.

We book at Costa Villa Resort through Agoda and it only cost 1,500 overnight. Costa Villa Resort is two to three minutes away from the beach.

It’s really fun to surf if there is a typhoon. As the locals say that once there is a typhoon, there will be a lot of surfers that will ride the waves due to the strong current brought by the typhoon.

There are a lot of eateries at San Juan La Union. Some of them are pricey and some of them are not. Pricey or not, all of the foods that we’ve eaten at La Union taste great.

We stay at La Union for about 3 days and 2 nights and we enjoyed staying in San Juan because of the good vibes and friendly locals.
